Residential Green Waste Collection

Residential Green Waste Collection

Green Waste Phone Number – 9387 8521

Unlimited green waste collections are available to your household on request. The city’s green waste collection service is accessed via a twenty-four hour, seven-day-a-week telephone answering service. To make sure your green waste can be collected please follow the below advice:

  • Bags of leaves, fresh lawn, clippings and weeds (no sand) will only be accepted in the approved green waste collection bag, available from the city’s Administration Centre.
  • Prunings can be placed on the verge. These should be limited to branches no greater than 1.5 metres in length and placed with the larger end towards the kerb
  • Tree trunks or stumps are to be cut to a size one person can lift (up to 15 kilograms)
  • The minimum volume which will be collected is half a standard trailer load, however neighbours can combine to reach this amount

When you need a collection, simply ring the collection service number on 9387 8521. Listen to the service requirements and then leave a message after the beep. Be sure to give your name, address and day time telephone number. Your collection will then automatically take place within three working days.
